The Unemployed Help Centre of Windsor Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to meeting the needs of vulnerable people living in Windsor and Essex County. The UHC improves the quality of lives by providing needed programs and services that move people to independence.
We have been providing various programs/services to address the specific needs of our diverse population since 1977. These include but are not exclusive to employment/educational/career counselling; effective job search techniques; resumes and cover letters; pre-employment training programs; on-the-job training programs; literacy; walk-in Resource and Information Centre for self-conducted job searching; food assistance, Keep the Heat, Plentiful Harvest Food Rescue Program, Community Garden, Community Kitchen, Coats for Kids, and many more.
We are a community-based agency, governed by a Board of Directors. We are funded through: federal, provincial; municipal government grants, the United Way as a member agency, private donations, and fundraising activities.
