DescriptionTo assist clients by creating job opportunities with an entry point to long-term employment. Provide on-the-job mentorship and coaching to the participants in the program. To continue relationships with current employers and secure new partnerships for job placement opportunities for participants. Conduct intakes to provide employment and vocational counselling including individualized employment preparation services, job development and placement within established Employment Ontario program guidelines and objectives. Job Description: -Responsible to secure employment for participants -Responsible for ES outcomes outlined in the ES agreement -Responsible to understand all program guidelines -Responsible to ensure the services provided reflect participants? needs, abilities and employment goals -Responsible to provide coaching, support, and mentorship for clients in the initial stages of employment and maintain relations with employers -Responsible to keep up with changes in the field, have current knowledge of the Windsor/Essex County job market and develop and maintain innovative programming that achieves the highest standards in employment practice -Responsible to understanding needs of economically and socially disadvantaged clients in the Windsor and Essex County area Duties and Responsibilities of this position include: -Coordinating and conducting marketing and outreach activities to community agencies, organizations and employers -Developing relationships with employers in a variety of industries to ensure successful job development for clients -Locating job openings for clients based on their individual skills and abilities -Must secure placements for participants -Conduct individual client interviews to assess and identify client needs/strengths, barriers and determine suitability for program/service access and eligibility -Working with participants on an individual basis regarding their job search progress and activities -Maintaining and updating employer database and tracking system -Completing reports and documentation on activities as required -Attending meetings as required -Develop and document individual client action plans to ensure client needs are being addressed via UHC program rationale and objectives -Conduct and maintain follow-up procedures to update client status and activity within established guidelines -Document pertinent information on all files within client caseload -Input client notes into computer database program -Undertaking other tasks as assigned
Qualifications-Post-secondary education or two years related experience in individual career counselling and job development -Must demonstrate strong skills in job development and placement and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field -Excellent organizational and communication skills -Ability to work well with minimal supervision -Knowledge of E.I., General Welfare Act, and other related community based training programs -Knowledge of labour force requirements and labour market information -Valid driver's licence and vehicle -Must acquire a certified criminal record and vulnerable sector check from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
