Energy Assistance Program

Maximum contribution $500 per household per calendar year

 

Goals & Objectives

 

  • Provide assistance to eligible low-income households in Windsor & Essex County with their energy crisis, who are financially unable to meet the basic human need of heat;

 

Eligibility Criterion

 

  • All low income households including families in receipt of NCB, seniors (over the age of 60), individuals and disabled persons (must be in receipt of a disability pension) will be considered;
  • The utility bill must be in the applicant's name and must match the address of the applicant;
  • The applicant must have been disconnected or in receipt of a Notice of Disconnection from the utility company;
  • Funding is limited to one grant per season;
  • If you are in receipt of Ontario Works or ODSP, please contact your caseworker.
