The Literacy and Basic Skills Program provides Levels 1-5 (Basic to Grade 9) academic upgrading for youth and adults, 19 and older in a classroom or smaller group environment. Instruction covers upgrading in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and arithmetic. Employment services are also available for those whose goal is entry into the workforce.
Individual skills assessments are conducted prior to program entry to determine current skill level for suitable program placement. Assessments may be requested for informational purposes for those wishing to determine their current skill level for job search, training programs, etc.
Hours of operation: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. year round (full and part-time enrollment based on available seats).
Financial assistance may be available to assist eligible individuals with transportation and childcare costs while attending our literacy program.
