SMART SERVE
The Unemployed Help Centre is now be offering a training course called Smart Serve.
This course was created to help servers,hospitality managers and owners to understand
and promote responsible alcoholic beverage service, and is certified through the Hospitality Industry Training Organization of Ontario.
Wine Tour Fundraiser
Sandy's (the place for food, fun and friends) organized a fundraiser by pulling several wineries
together for a fun-filled tour that was enjoyed by all those who participated! It was a beautiful day that
started out at Sandy's where everyone met for a delightful adventure on a bus driven wine tour.
The event was very successful raising over $1,000 for our Food Bank. The money will be
used to purchase turkeys for the Christmas boxes that will benifit those less fortunate.

Computer Workshops (Evening Classes)
We are now offering free computer workshops on the third Wednesday of each month from
6:00 pm to 7:30 pm within our Resource Centre.
The focus of these courses is to give you the word-processing skills needed to create and update your resume and cover letters.
In addition, you can learn how to access the Internet to job search, email resumes, and gather information on potential employers,
and research career & training opportunities.
We are now open late on Wednesdays until 7:30 pm:
Come in and use our Resource Centre where you can use one of our many computers with Internet access and MS Office software,
printers, fax machine, newspapers, job search materials such as a manufacturers' directory, sample resumes,
and much much more. A staff person is ready to assist you with your needs, so don't delay your job search, come
in and take advantage of our facilities. We are here to help!

Throughout the year we have special events to help us achieve our goals in
servicing our clients such as, Food Drives for our Food Bank and our Annual
Christmas Party.

Our 18th Annual Golf Tournament for 2009 was a huge success! Our sincere thanks to all of our supporters, without you, the money
raised would not be available for programs such as emergency food assistance, coats for kids, our community garden, and much, much more. Click here to view our
