Description:

The Payment Clerk I provides clerical support to the accounting clerk team. Verify payment information for claims being paid via wire and EFT. Communicate with claims team regarding the status of payments and void, coordinating updates required in both SAGE and HSP.
Expected Responsibilities:
Completion of wire payments.
Monitoring the claims system work group for wires to be prepared.
Review invoices to verify wire information provided is accurate.
Enter wire details into banking interface.
Coordinate claim numbers related to payments and confirm payments in operating system (HSP).
Reconciling wire request to client statements.
Sending wire confirmations to clients.
Completion of EFT payments and other forms of payment.
Enter EFT details into banking interface.
Confirm EOB details and confirm payments in operating system (HSP).
Responding to inquiries regarding cheque/wire re-issuance and stop payments.
Coordinating void process with claims team in operating system (HSP).
Assisting with stale dated cheques listing.
Assist with sorting and processing credit card payments.
Assistance with various account reconciliations.
Ad-hoc reporting as requested.
Special accounting projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with data entry and analysis is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Intermediate Knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Strong ability to work in a team setting.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
