Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in a mechanic position, preferred; Must be familiar with the Lock Out/Tag Out policy and procedures; Must be proficient in hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair; Proficient in low-voltage electrical systems and cutting and grinding tasks; Must be skilled in diesel engine troubleshooting and repair; Must be proficient in welding and cutting; Proficient in reading and working from fabrication drawings, hydraulic prints and schematics, and automotive-type low-voltage electrical schematics; Must be proficient in diagnosing machine malfunctions, adjusting, dissembling mechanical sub-assemblies, replacing broken or worn parts and reassembling mechanical sub-assemblies; Computer knowledge including CAT ET, Windows, SMAG, GHH, etc.; Must have a working knowledge of crushers, screeners and conveyors; Have knowledge of power transmission and alignment procedures; Welding certification or experience would be considered an asset; Class A Mechanic (421T or 310T) required and proof of completion of an accredited Skilled Trades Ontario program is required (e.g., 421A - Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, 310T - Truck and Coach Technician).
