Description:
Operate all mining equipment and lubricate equipment in a safe and efficient manner; Complete out inspection sheets, timecards, work orders, and other reports; Clearly communicate work and status updates with peers and supervisors; Support hoist and shaft work as needed; Perform troubleshooting on various equipment; Read and utilize hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics associated with equipment; Utilize computers and CMMS systems; Complete proper installations of systems and components on stationary and mobile equipment; Assist in the training of employees of lesser skill; Perform greasing, cleaning and inspecting of equipment including the safe proficient operation of the fuel truck; Train other employees in safe job procedures of mechanic work; Maintain a clean and hazard-free workplace at all times;Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in a mechanic position, preferred; Must be familiar with the Lock Out/Tag Out policy and procedures; Must be proficient in hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair; Proficient in low-voltage electrical systems and cutting and grinding tasks; Must be skilled in diesel engine troubleshooting and repair; Must be proficient in welding and cutting; Proficient in reading and working from fabrication drawings, hydraulic prints and schematics, and automotive-type low-voltage electrical schematics; Must be proficient in diagnosing machine malfunctions, adjusting, dissembling mechanical sub-assemblies, replacing broken or worn parts and reassembling mechanical sub-assemblies; Computer knowledge including CAT ET, Windows, SMAG, GHH, etc.; Must have a working knowledge of crushers, screeners and conveyors; Have knowledge of power transmission and alignment procedures; Welding certification or experience would be considered an asset; Class A Mechanic (421T or 310T) required and proof of completion of an accredited Skilled Trades Ontario program is required (e.g., 421A - Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, 310T - Truck and Coach Technician).
