Facilities Technician

Description:

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of the facility and equipment safely in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications; Perform periodic building maintenance inspections and testing to ensure conformity to code and requirements by provincial and federal laws; Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials using power tools and hand tools; Assist in installing structures such as windows, doors, cabinets, drywall and molding; Assist in constructing building frameworks including walls and floors; Building/assembling storage racks (including fast tube), sawhorses and work tables; Painting stands, ladders, worktables, and garbage containers; Taping and labelling floor areas; Relocating racks, stands, and worktables; Locate parts required for maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs; Keep detailed and accurate maintenance records of all work performed; Garbage removal within Hangar; Exterior building maintenance as required by season; Operate company vehicles and heavy equipment; Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting safety hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand and promote the company safety policy

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Driver’s License Class G; Knowledge of general maintenance & repairs; Mechanically inclined; Basic hand tools – list will be provided; Ability to read, interpret and perform maintenance activities using operating/maintenance instructions and manuals; Forklift experience considered an asset; Working on the Hangar floor and outside the building; Shift Work; Ability to continuously stand/walk while performing work; Lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and climbing are required; Ability to safely lift 50lbs; Able to work at heights or confined spaces; Periodic overtime may be required; Perform tasks in adverse weather conditions
