Description:

Plan and optimize daily and weekly freight loads based on customer requirements, equipment availability, and driver schedules; Maximize truck utilization and minimize empty miles; Coordinate load assignments considering delivery windows, route efficiency, and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations; Identify backhaul opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency; Assign loads to drivers and communicate pickup and delivery instructions; Monitor driver schedules and ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations; Coordinate with drivers, brokers, shippers, and receivers to resolve operational issues; Manage schedule changes, delays, breakdowns, and other service disruptions; Provide real-time shipment updates to customers; Track shipments using GPS, ELD, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS); Monitor load progress from dispatch through final delivery; Proactively identify and resolve delays or service issues; Maintain accurate shipment records and update tracking systems; Ensure Proof of Delivery (POD) documents are collected and processed promptly; Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, brokers, and carriers; Respond to inquiries regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and service concerns; Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and transportation partners; Communicate delays, exceptions, and corrective actions promptly; Maintain accurate dispatch logs, load records, and transportation documentation; Verify load information, rates, and delivery requirements; Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, safety, and company regulations; Prepare operational reports related to load performance, equipment utilization, and on-time delivery; Assist with billing support, detention tracking, and load reconciliation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Post-secondary education in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is an asset; Minimum 2 years of experience in trucking dispatch, load planning, logistics coordination, or transportation operations; Strong knowledge of trucking operations, freight management, routing, and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations; Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), GPS tracking, ELD platforms, and Microsoft Office applications; Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills; Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
