Description:
he Maintenance Person is responsible for completing general repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure hotel rooms, public areas, equipment, and exterior spaces remain safe, functional, and well maintained.Key Responsibilities
Complete basic maintenance and minor repairs throughout the hotel.
Change light bulbs and fixtures using ladders safely.
Inspect and maintain guest rooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and public areas.
Perform minor plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and carpentry work.
Use hand and power tools safely and properly.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
Assist with basic HVAC troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
Empty garbage and maintain clean, organized work and storage areas.
Move equipment, supplies, furniture, and materials when required.
Complete routine building inspections and report larger repair concerns.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures and hotel standards.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and completed maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in general maintenance, building maintenance, construction, or a related role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of general repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Electrical and HVAC experience or training is a major asset.
- Comfortable working safely on ladders and changing lights.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple maintenance requests.
- Professional and respectful when working around guests and coworkers.
- Available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- WHMIS, Working at Heights, or other maintenance-related certifications are assets.
- High School Diploma
