International Languages Instructor - American Sign Language (ASL)

Description:
Instruct classes on Saturday mornings at a school site(s). Classes begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon commencing ASAP. Demonstrate strong collaborative, presentation, written and oral communication skills to support the delivery of the program; Demonstrate a commitment to and documented success in working to create a fair, inclusive, antiracist environment, and to supporting diverse constituencies and populations; Assist with the promotion of the International Languages Program;Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth and adult in the Deaf/hard of hearing community would be considered an asset; Current police clearance with a Vulnerable Sector Check is required. Proficiency in computer skills such as but not limited to: Word, Excel or other database software; Proficiency and fluency in American Sign Language; Legally allowed to work in Canada, over the age of 18; An interest and passion about languages; Classroom experience considered an asset; Effective organization, communication skills, and respect within the classroom environment.
